About me
Hi, I’m Marta! Owner and Head Trainer of Marta’s Dog Training and Coaching, LLC. I have been training dogs since I was a kid. My training started with just me and my Lab cross Sammy, in my backyard in Wisconsin. We joined 4-H and a dog agility community, and that’s when I fell in love with dog sports and helping other people and their dogs! My first 'client’ was when I was about 12-13 years old. A few years later I got my Border Collie, Scout (mascot), who is now 11. We did agility, skijoring, obedience and more throughout my high school and college years, and still to this day.She now has two other dog ‘siblings’, Lily and Koda (and our elderly cat, Triscuit).
I went to school for 4 years with dreams to become a Wildlife Biologist. During the last few semesters of school, I started working as a Veterinary Assistant, which re-kindled my love and passion for dog behavior & helping other families’ dogs. I loved working with all the misunderstood dogs. After graduating from school in Minnesota, I moved to Colorado. I continued working as a Veterinary Assistant and training dogs on the side. FAST FORWARD here I am now, taking the LEAP! Ready to HELP! Thank you for your support!
My goal is to better the community by providing a better understanding of the dog & human relationship through training dogs and coaching owners. The methods of dog training I use depends on the dog, as not one training program fits all dogs!
What makes this ‘not your everyday dog training’? My main goal is to create a healthy relationship between the human & their beloved dog. Coach the human to train their dog. Clear communication is the most important part of this. Foundations are always reward based and as the dog advances we start holding them accountable in a clear way. Dogs are here to help relieve stress, not bring it! Let’s change that and get started.
